BT have major issues at Stepney Green again for Ethernet and ADSL services and dropped all of our sessions. 50 % have come back online.
If customers are getting BT ‘Service information’ webpage coming up then please reboot your router.
-This will be caused by BT accepting your login but not passing it on to us. Rebooting will cause the router to relogin, and should get through to us.

Almost all sessions are now back online. So far the sessions are looking stable.

BT have reported the fault as cleared. If any connections are still offline a reboot will be required.

We dropped around 2000 ADSL connections at 1am this morning due to BT upgrades at the Stepney Green Exchange. The connections are currently unstable although around 1000 are now back online.

BT are still trying to find the cause of the issue, no ETA for when to expect a fix.

We have seen a slight increase of users now connected, still no word from BT

Just had another 500 users come online, still no word from BT so we consider that these are at risk of dropping again

Some users are getting IP’s from the 172.16.*.* range which means they have logged onto BT’s network. A reboot will be required to get these users back online with us.

Most users are now online, Some DSL routers have required a reboot. Still no word from BT

Sunday 21st August 2011 1200 hrs – 1600 hrs
We have had some trouble with one of our main LNS’s which terminate 75% of our ADSL connections. Once the LNS was rebooted by onsite engineers the connections are now running as normal. We will continue to investigate what went wrong and will apply any fixes as necessary as well as adding redundancy into the network.

We are currently having some issues with one of our webservers. Engineers are currently on their way to site.

System is down due to hardware failure. We are currently rebuilding from backups.

The system is now online, engineers will stay on site and monitor.

We are currently having some problems with the radius server. Engineers are currently onsite checking the situation. This problem is stopping ADSL connections getting online. I’ll post updates here as I get them.

We currently have 2 servers offline. One of the email servers and the radius server. All email we still be collected by the second email server. Engineers are currently on their way to the rack to assess the situation.

UPDATE 02:20 hrs 11-02-2011
The radius server has been online since 2am. The email server has been swapped out and we are currently restoring data from backups.

The Email server has been restored and is now back online.

One of our providers will be performing an upgrade to the router directly connected to ours. This means all connections on the below realms will drop for up to 2 hours.

Maintenance will also be preformed on other parts of there network on the below dates. The same realms will be affected but not all connections will drop.

Work will be carried out on BT Wholesale’s 21CN Broadband Network which will be carried out on the following dates and times;
Monday 29/11/2010 02:00 – 06:00
Tuesday 30/11/2010 02:00 – 06:00
Wednesday 01/12/2010 02:00 – 06:00
Thursday 02/12/2010 02:00 – 06:00
During these times line cards will be remotely reset to take new firmware.
BT advise that customers will experience downtime of around 60 minutes, however we would ask customers to wait for the maintenance window to close and to reboot their router before contacting the support desk should connectivity issues persist.
A list of exchanges affected has been uploaded here for reference.
We apologise for any inconvenience this essential work may cause.

We have just lost around 300 DSL connections with our supplier. Not all realms are affected. We will post updates here once we have them.

UPDATE 14:45 hrs
Most of the connections are back online after several bounces. We do not yet have a “all clear” from the supplier so we consider the service to still be at risk.
UPDATE 15:05 hrs
The supplier has upgraded the software on the router, this upgrade should solve the issue. We now have almost all connections back online. If you still have customers offline please ask them to reboot the ADSL hardware as this should get them back online.

The network has been stable since the router software upgrade.

We are making some improvements to our web and other hosting servers, this work requires we shutdown and relocate the servers to our new facility. All efforts will be undetaken to ensure the servers are offline for the shortest time possible.
