ADSL Disconnects

Thursday the 4th of Feb 2010 20:25hrs

We are currently investigating with one of our suppliers why 400 DSL connections dropped for 5 minutes this evening at 20:25 hrs.

UPDATE 8th Feb 2010
The disconnects were due to a BGP peer resetting within our providers network, the reset caused a ripple affect across one the providers core routers which caused the link to drop. The provider is working on a solution to stop the issue reoccurrring.

ADSL Disconnects

January 22nd, 2010

Friday the 22nd of Jan 2010 13:15hrs

We have just had 100 or so connections drop from one of our suppliers, they are aware of “A problem” but do not know if it will continue or not.

We have escalated this issue with our account managers and will update here ASAP.

UPDATE 13:30hrs

The provider has issues with one of their data-centres in London, they are currently working on it.

UPDATE Saturday 24th 22:20hrs

We have just received the all clear from the provider, the device has now been stable for 24 hrs.

Mail server offline

January 21st, 2010

The main email server which provides pop3, imap and webmail is offline, engineers are on their way to site, smtp email customers are ok.

UPDATE 13.45

Engineers are now onsite. A new server is being installed and mail will be restored from a backup. I will post further updates as and when they become available.

UPDATE 17:00

The server has been back online for 15 minutes and is looking stable. Some email may be duplicated but none should be lost.

LLU and Annex-M Connection Problems

We are currently experiencing a intermittent problem with our LLU and Annex-M supplier, their engineers are currently working on the problem but we do not have a fix time yet, all services using these connections should be considered at risk,

UPDATE 16:32 hrs

We have just had the all-clear from our provider, they had a issue with a broadcast storm taking almost all the bandwidth of the London fibre ring, this was a result of human error during a routine config change.

Hign Latency on ADSL Connections

October 20th, 2009

Tuesday 20th October 2009: 12.00hrs – current

We are currently investigating some high latency on one of our 155 Central pipes.

UPDATE 14:46 hrs
BT have acknowledged the fault and are working on it, the latency has reduced back to normal levels but we have not yet had a all clear back from BT.

Short Notice Network Maintenance

September 30th, 2009

Thursday 1st October 2009: 01.00hrs – 06.00hrs

We have received a emergency maintenance notice from one of our suppliers.

They are replacing a router chassis in Telehouse London due to failures that have occurred.
The outage should be no longer than 20 mins and will affect some Leased Lines only.

RESOLVED – Email – POP and Webmail

August 25th, 2009

Customers will currently be experiencing intermittent issues connecting to their POP3 mailboxes or viewing mail via Webmail.

Our engineers are investigating this issue.

UPDATES:

26 Aug 10:43 – Our Engineers are continuing to work on this issue as of yet there is still no ETA as to when this will be resolved

26 Aug 15:27 – Although normal service has resumed for the majority of affected customers a small number may still be experiencing intermittent access to their mail. No mail is being lost as a result of this issue and our engineers are doing everything they can to restore normal service to all customers.

26 Aug 16:20 – We have now managed to isolate the problem to a small proportion of mailboxes. Significant progress is being made every hour on the number of affected mailboxes and we expect to be able to provide more detail regarding full resolution in the next hour.

26 Aug 18:00 – We have now restored all of our mailboxes and customers should now be able retrieve all emails. We will continue to monitor the issue before closing the incident.

Network Outage

June 17th, 2009

Monday 15th June 2009 22:30 – 23:00 hrs
Tuesday 16th June 2009 21:30 – 21:45 hrs

During the above times we experienced a network outage which affected all services, this was caused by a ddos attack. We are currently working with our hardware supplier to apply measures which should limit the effects of any future attacks.

Packet Loss on ADSL Connections

Wednesday 17th June 2009 07:00 – 12:00 hrs

During the above time there was intermittent packet loss on some ADSL connections, this affected a small amount of users with usernames ending in @link.4adsl.net.

The cause of this was a routing problem between us and some of the suppliers routers which are placed around the country. Normal service should now be in place.
