ADSL Disconnects

July 21st, 2010

We have just had 100 or so connections drop from one of our suppliers, they are aware of an issue that is affecting DSL lines which route via their Birmingham IPStream nodes. Updates will be posted here when we have them

UPDATE 11:30 hrs

Our engineers are continuing to work at resolving this incident, with an engineer dispatched to site to perform on site checks. Remote diagnostics will continue whilst he is en route. In addition, faults have been raised with our suppliers to ensure speediest resolution.

UPDATE 12:15 hrs

Service has now been restored, we are still investigating the cause.

Upstream Network Maintenance

July 19th, 2010

During the maintenance windows listed above, one of our suppliers will be performing essential maintenance on the DSL network involving software upgrades and changes to links between the DSL core sites. There will be several short (up to 15 minutes approx) outages during this work.

Web Server Offline

July 12th, 2010

We currently have one of the webservers offline. Engineers are currently on their way to the rack to assess the situation.
If your website resolves to the IP of 82.144.228.156 then you are effected by this outage.

Internet Transit

June 2nd, 2010

We are having some issue’s with one of our transit providers, we have shutdown the link so the traffic can flow via alternate paths whilst we investigate with them.

You may have had trouble reaching some websites / networks since 06:30 hrs this morning, you should now be able to reach those.

DSL Network Maintenance

June 1st, 2010

Monday 8th June 2010: 22.00hrs – 04.00hrs

During the above maintenance window one of our suppliers will be carrying out a series of upgrade tasks that will impact ADSL users on the following realms. @sc and @llu2. Some end user sessions will be forced to log off and re-authenticate as the new hardware is put into place.

No other ADSL realms or services will be affected during this time.

ADSL and Radius issues on WBMC

May 21st, 2010

We are currently experiencing random disconnects and failure to re-connect due to radius traffic is not reaching our radius servers on the WBMC platform. The issue has been raised with BT and they are currently investigating.

All connections are now coming back online, some users may have to reboot their router to get re-connected. We are still having issue’s with capacity.

Packet Loss on ADSL Connections

May 20th, 2010

We are currently experiencing some packet loss on some of the ADSL connections on one of our main BT Central’s which is on the WBMC network, engineers are investigating the problem but we do not have a fix time yet. The below realms are affected.

BT are still investigating the issue.

BT have tasked an engineer to the exchange where the main links come into our network.

UPDATE 16:45 hrs

The BT engineer has still not arrived at the exchange yet.

UPDATE 19:30 hrs
The packet loss seems to have stopped although we believe the problem is a capacity issue somewhere in the BT network as our traffic levels normally drop off around 17:30 hrs. No updates received from BT since 17:25 hrs

UPDATE 03:00hrs 21-05-2010
BT have found a fault with one of the WES links in Telecity which the WBMC service runs over, they are currently on there way to Telecity now.

UPDATE 08:45 hrs 21-05-2010
BT replaced a line card which was affecting the faulty WES link at 04:00hrs, traffic has been flowing over that path for almost 5 hours and it looking stable. We shall continue to monitor throughout the day.

We are still seeing capacity issue’s which is causing packet loss on the WBMC platform, we are currently working with BT to get this resolved.

Switch problem

May 16th, 2010

We are currently experiencing a problem on one of our switches due to a broadcast / ARP issue. This problem is affecting DNS queries to 82.144.228.34 (ns01.link-connect.net.uk) and customers co-located in the Telecity rack, an engineer is currently on way to the rack now to investigate further. The DNS servers in Global Switch (82.144.228.3, 82.144.239.30) are not affected.

The issue has now been resolved, our engineers will continue to monitor to make sure nothing else crops up.

intonet.co.uk email upgrades

Saturday 20th March 2010 22:00hrs Important Changes

We will soon be upgrading your current email service to a faster, more reliable setup. This upgrade will require you to make a small change to the username you are currently using to collect your email.
Your password will not change with this migration, and all you will need to do is add ‘@intonet.co.uk’
to the end of your current login.

For example,
Current username = user1
New username = user1@intonet.co.uk

The server switchover will begin at 22:00 hrs on 20th March 2010, please do not make any changes to your username until this time. We will issue a further reminder to you closer to the date.

Please note that all emails will be migrated over to the new system when you log in with your new username. If you use webmail, you will need to export your address book manually, as this will not migrate automatically.

ADSL Disconnects

Thursday the 4th of Feb 2010 20:25hrs

We are currently investigating with one of our suppliers why 400 DSL connections dropped for 5 minutes this evening at 20:25 hrs.

UPDATE 8th Feb 2010
The disconnects were due to a BGP peer resetting within our providers network, the reset caused a ripple affect across one the providers core routers which caused the link to drop. The provider is working on a solution to stop the issue reoccurrring.
